Delilah Vazquez

Delilah Vasquez joined the City of Ceres as a Director of Human Resources in May 2022.  As the Human Resources Director, she manages and oversees the activities and operations of the Human Resources Department, including employee/labor relations, recruitment and selection, job analysis and classification, compensation and benefits administration, employee development, discipline, negotiations, and administration of bargaining unit agreements, risk management and the liability, property, and worker’s compensation programs.

Prior to her employment with the City of Ceres, she began her career as a Child Support Officer at the Department of Child Support Services in 2000.  She joined the Probation Department in 2005 as the Clerical Manager and promoted to the Human Resources Manager in 2012.   She transferred to the Chief Executive Office in 2014 as a Management Consultant for the Economic Development Team and transitioned to the Human Resources Team in 2015.  In 2017 she joined the Community Services Agency as the Senior Human Resources Manager and later promoted to an Assistant Director of the StanWORK’s Division in 2020.  She enjoyed a twenty-two-year career with Stanislaus County and learned a great deal from the wonderful people there.

She graduated from California State University Stanislaus with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

She was elected to the Stanislaus County Employees Retirement Association Board by the general members in January 2023.  She has lived in Modesto California her entire life and in her spare time, enjoys traveling internationally, completing jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family.  Her most memorable international travel experience was the Egyptian Pyramids of Giza, Valley of the Kings in Luxor, and a Nile cruise.
